Karamoja is classified as one of the world's poorest areas, with high rates of malnutrition and around 61% of the population living in absolute poverty. Last year, 60% of the pupils attending Child of Hope nursery school in Karamoja were clinically underweight.
This year, with the help of our nutrition programme, we are pleased to say that figure has dropped to 40%, and we hope it will reduce even further by the end of the year. At this rate, these wonderful kids will soon grow into those enormous shorts!
