The parents' micro-business groups in Karamoja have made incredible strides this past year! Now, 60 marginalized women have the skills to run their own businesses, generate income and support their families.
In Arachek village, we caught up with group leaders like Anna, who shared their inspiring stories. Anna's group buys produce in bulk, sells it in local villages, and shares profits to help each other out in times of need. If one mother has a sick child, they will give that mother an extra amount to help her buy medicine. The other five groups of parents tend to function similarly, buying and selling clothes, maize and other foodstuffs to boost their incomes.
Life may still be challenging, but with grant funding, these women have found hope and resilience. If you'd like to support a microbusiness start-up from £15 per month, please click here. Together, we can make a difference!
