Bex and our new long-term volunteer Lucy Swift (left) are planning to trek up a Ugandan mountain to raise money for our school – possibly three legged!

They aim to climb nearby Wanale Ridge, part of the huge Mount Elgon massif on March 30*. The ridge looms over Mbale, where Child of Hope works.

Lucy said: “We are very proud to work at this amazing place and want to challenge ourselves to raise some funds to support Child of Hope’s vital work. If we raise over a £1000 we will do the trek three legged!”

Bex said on Facebook: “So, apparently I’m going to haul my ageing body up a mountain whilst potentially being strapped to another ageing (but fitter!) body in order to raise funds for Child Of Hope. But we’re only doing it 3-legged if we raise over £1000... so whatever you do... if you love me, DO NOT DONATE!!!!!!!"

So, if you’d like to sponsor them – just don’t tell Bex – click here to go to their JustGiving fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/BexLucy - go on, please do!

JustGiving sends your donation straight to Child of Hope and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

* UPDATE: Due to bad weather and slippery conditions on the ridge, Lucy and Bex have postponed their sponsored walk until May/June.
