Kind grant-providers and a UK school have helped us purchase more books for our school, which is terrific because in Primary, the focus is currently on reading using local storybooks and a local reading scheme.

The aim is to improve the reading age and for the children to develop a love of reading. The reading area has also been made more comfortable and inviting with the addition of locally made mats and cushions.

Meanwhile in our Secondary school, the teachers are rolling out the new secondary curriculum in years S1 and S2. This curriculum is very different from the old, as it involves a lot of group work, discussion and independent research. The students enjoy using the new books in the library to carry out their research. A training session has also been given to the secondary teachers on effective group work to help them implement the new curriculum.
