The Christmas party we put on for the children of our new nursery school at Namalu in the Karamoja region was a great success – everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and the music. For many it was their first party.
Parents attended, plus local elders and community leaders, so there was quite a crowd. Our new pupils are in uniform with orange t-shirts; the non-uniform children were siblings and also other children from the community.
The COH staff did a fantastic job cooking the food, setting up the tents and decorating. The food eaten included beef, chicken, goat, potatoes and vegetables – a real treat.
Our food distribution to our other pupils' families in the namatala slum took place on Christmas Eve; we hope to have pictures of that very soon.
