P5 in English study the topic of letter writing. This includes the role of the Post Office. In Uganda they do not have a postal system like the UK where letters are delivered by a postman to your door. Instead, some individuals and companies, like Child of Hope, have a box at the Post Office where they receive mail.
This week there was great excitement in P5 as they received letters from the year 6 at St Mary Redcliffe Primary School, Bristol through the post. It led to a great discussion about how the letters had got from the UK to Mbale. It really helped the students understand how the postal system works in a practical and fun way. Thank you St Mary Redcliffe.
