These are our primary teachers, many of whom live in Namatala slum alongside the pupils, so they are well-acquainted with the hardships and challenges they experience each day.
The children have been back at school nearly three months and the teachers have worked hard to help them catch up on the learning they missed during the long-enforced closure. Some of the teachers are also foster parents for a few of the pupils. Susan, a teacher, and Moses, assistant teacher, even found time to get married last year.
