In Mbale, the rainy season brings regular downpours, often lasting about an hour. Recently, a particularly intense overnight storm caused a partial collapse of the home where one of our students, Joel (P2), lives with his mother.
Thankfully, neither of them was hurt, but many of their belongings were ruined. Without the means to repair the damage, Joel’s mum and her landlord faced an overwhelming challenge. Child of Hope was able to step in, providing support to rebuild the entire house to ensure it’s now safe and stable.
Joel and his mum are thrilled to be back home and grateful for the new mattress, blanket, and other essentials made possible by this support.
