In January of this year, John, who is in Child of Hope School’s Primary 5 year, sadly lost his mother. With the loss of his only financial support, John moved in with his maternal aunt. Although he misses his mother, his aunt’s support is helping him find solace in her care. If you saw him at school, studying hard, always smiling and playing happily with his friends, you would not realise the challenges he has faced.
John realises that his future depends on taking his studies seriously. His mother had been one of our IGA parents that we helped set up in a small business and, when he is older, John plans to access savings she made to help him embark on his own project to become self-sufficient. We’ll do our best to help him.
