Students at our secondary School were excited to welcome the Uganda Red Cross for a hands-on session in life-saving skills. The School’s Red Cross Club, along with other interested pupils, took part in practical training that could one day save a life.
They learnt what to do if someone is unconscious, how to check for a pulse, place someone in the recovery position, and even how to perform CPR. They also discovered clever ways to create a temporary splint for a broken arm or leg, using everyday materials like cardboard, clothing, or even banana fibre.
We’re so proud of these students for gaining such important skills - ones that could make a real difference in an emergency.
