Sometimes domestic chores are thought of locally as the responsibility of girls, but not by Francis. He finished his exams recently and willingly supports his mother by cleaning their mud hut daily, washing plates and running any errands she needs.

While she is out struggling to make some money, Francis takes charge of cooking a meal for himself, his mother, and the little baby.

Their mud hut is one of the few still available in the slum, because many in the community have been able to build semi-permanent houses with old iron sheets. His mother is very grateful for how exceptionally helpful Francis is within the family.
