Yesterday, Mbale was hit by severe flash floods, tragically claiming lives and disrupting daily life. Many of our primary pupils from Namabasa were stranded after lessons when heavy rain caused the river between Namatala and Namabasa to burst its banks, flooding the road with strong currents.

Some children stayed with relatives in Namatala, but 22 had to spend the night at school under the care of a dedicated teacher. We ensured they had food, water, and a safe place to rest. Thankfully, they were able to return home today once the waters receded.

The video shows the flooding behind our primary school (the water did not stop our pupils from singing!). While the school is safe, roads remain cut off, making travel challenging. Please keep our community in your thoughts during this difficult time.
