Jennifer – a single disabled mum who has been part of our income-generating scheme for over three years – is a resilient lady now able to sustain herself and her daughter with the help of her business.
Her little girl is in our Primary 2 class. Our social workers and the IGA team have kept close tabs on the family, providing support and advice.
Despite being unable to walk, Jennifer runs a small business selling broken rice. It has enabled her to move from a semi-permanent to a permanent house and she is generally happy and looking forward to better times ahead. Jennifer is pictured here preparing the staple meal of posho.
