Our nursery class in Arachek, Karamoja – Uganda’s poorest region – welcomed 53 new children earlier this year. Most of them arrived without shoes and wearing only torn or threadbare clothes.
Our school nurse raised a concern that none of the children had underwear – an important issue for comfort, dignity and hygiene. Two wonderful UK volunteers responded by gifting the girls with knickers and the boys with underpants. The children were thrilled and couldn’t stop smiling!
Huge thanks to the volunteers for donating – you're amazing!
