The father of one of our pupils, Aleper, kindly volunteered to make a hygienic drying rack for the Namalu Nursery.

In Uganda, wet dishes can easily become contaminated with bacteria, as washing and drying up typically takes place outdoors. By building a raised frame out of local materials, the dishes can dry in the sun after washing, and the sunlight will kill any germs. The new rack will reduce the risk of bacterial infection causing sickness, thereby reducing school absence.
