Our staff have been busy for months preparing for the reopening of our two schools – which takes place next Monday!
Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has announced plans to lift COVID-19 containment measures that had been in place since March 2020, including reopening schools on January 10. That’s all schools; nursery, primary and secondary schools.
For nearly two years of national closures due to Covid-19, our teachers have provided home learning resources and made home visits, and our welfare and health teams have supplied emergency food and healthcare support to hundreds of families in the Namatala slum.
Now we can move forward, focusing on our core work of providing quality education to slum children through our schools and helping their mums create an income through starting and operating micro-businesses.
If you would like to sponsor one of these wonderful kids through their education, please click here for more information about child sponsorship.
