Silas 2.jpeg

The dry season is drawing to a close in Mbale, but Silas and his family were fortunate to have some land by the river. Drawing water from the river, they are able to grow green-leaved vegetables in their garden.

Harvesting these vegetables daily helps to sustain the family during the dry season. While his mother sells the vegetables from her stall at the market, Silas sells some of them to neighbours nearby. Dodo tastes similar to spinach while gobe has a stronger flavour, more like bean leaves.

Silas is one of the Child of Hope pupils currently without a sponsor. If you would like to sponsor his education, please click here.
