Our children often get in desperate situations, and Child of Hope is always on hand to help. Sometimes things get worse than ever, as for Brian (aged 8), who has been living with a sick mother for an extended period. She was admitted to hospital recently where, sadly, she died.
His older sister is trying to care for him but, having no job, the challenge of feeding themselves adequately has been difficult. So, the Child of Hope social workers have been ensuring they receive the material help they need. Additionally, they have been able to provide some counselling for both Brian and his sister as they come to terms with the loss of their mother.
